“this adaptability increases the restaurant’s ability to serve different types of customers and capitalize on different opportunities throughout the day.”

Interview: Designing an Immersive

Dining Experience:
Behind the Vision of Dawat e Zaika

The decision to incorporate a curated feature wall of Indian jewelry was driven by the need to create a visually striking, Instagram-worthy experience. In today’s market, aesthetics play a critical role in attracting customers, especially in an age where social media and visual appeal are key drivers of foot traffic. The jewelry wall not only honors India’s rich cultural heritage but also serves as a unique selling point that draws in a diverse audience, particularly younger customers who value both authenticity and modern design.

PRIA:

Why did you choose to incorporate a curated feature wall of Indian jewelry?

DN:

The divider was strategically designed to enhance the space’s flexibility. By incorporating this feature, we can easily transform the restaurant from an everyday dining experience into a dedicated event space for corporate gatherings, private functions, or celebrations. This adaptability allows Dawat e Zaika to generate additional revenue through event bookings, which is a valuable profit channel that helps offset operating costs. The ability to host events without disrupting the main dining area adds versatility, making the space attractive to a broader range of customers—from casual diners to companies looking for a venue.

PRIA:

How does the divider for hosting events contribute to the space's versatility and profitability?

DN:

The floor design and layout were planned with dual functionality in mind. It seamlessly integrates with the main dining area while providing the flexibility to convert into a dance floor during peak hours or special events. This adaptability increases the restaurant’s ability to serve different types of customers and capitalize on different opportunities throughout the day.

PRIA:

What was the reasoning behind the floor design and layout, especially with its dual function as a dining area and dance floor?

DN:

The blend of modern design with traditional Indian influences was a deliberate choice to appeal to both contemporary tastes and cultural authenticity. For developers and business owners, it’s critical to create a space that feels both fresh and timeless, and this design choice allows Dawat e Zaika to appeal to a wide range of customers—from those seeking a modern, stylish environment to those drawn to authentic cultural experiences. This dual approach creates a strong brand identity that resonates with diverse customer demographics, from young professionals to families. By integrating heritage in a subtle yet impactful way, we’re able to cater to a growing demand for culturally rich, experiential dining while maintaining a sleek, modern aesthetic that appeals to today’s design-conscious market. This not only strengthens the restaurant's positioning but also encourages repeat business and customer loyalty.
