interior redesign

Cactus Club Cafe, a notable establishment within the culinary industry, expressed the need to rejuvenate its Kelowna Banks Road location to address current design and functionality limitations. Pria Rajput was approached to develop an innovative concept that would redefine the existing space, ultimately driving increased foot traffic and enhancing the dining experience, particularly for the patio area.

design approach

Challenge:
The existing space was hindered by an outdated design and a layout that failed to encourage free movement and comfort for patrons and staff alike. These constraints impacted the establishment's ambiance and hindered its full potential for customer engagement.

Vision:
The proposed "Prickly Bear" concept was crafted to bring modern sensibilities to the space while preserving and uplifting the architectural heritage of the Cactus Club Cafe.

concept proposal

Enhancing Features and Interactive Spaces
We proposed creating engaging feature areas and walls designed to act as inviting anchors within the space, leading patrons from the entrance to the patio. These spots would blend biophilic design principles with artful installations, encapsulating the spirit of the "Prickly Bear" theme.
Salvaging with a Modern Twist
The design retained characteristic elements such as brick walls but reimagined them with an off-white plaster treatment for a balanced blend of tradition and contemporary flair. This measure was proposed as a transformative yet environmentally conscious choice.
Rethinking Layout and Functionality
Strategic layout modifications were fundamental to our concept. A new scheme for arranging furniture was envisioned to optimize space utility, promoting a fluid ambiance that encourages movement and interaction. The custom-designed furniture would adopt a branding style emblematic of the Cactus Club, but with the distinctive aesthetic of our "Prickly Bear" concept, achieving harmony across the franchise’s ecosystem.
The "Prickly Bear" concept created by Pria Rajput + BLD team represented a visionary approach to the Cactus Club Cafe at Kelowna Banks Road. Our proposal was crafted with deep consideration of the client's needs and the end-user experience. While not yet brought to fruition, the concept stands as an articulate plan for transforming the familiar into a contemporary, charismatic, and highly functional space, promising potential for an invigorated business and enhanced customer loyalty.

conclusion

Although the concept has not yet been implemented, we believe that its realization would yield substantial benefits:

  • Boosted Foot Traffic: The welcoming allure of the newly designed patio and interior would likely encourage increased patron visitation.
  • Operational Streamlining: An unobstructed layout tailored to staff workflow would potentially enhance service delivery.
  • Elevated Brand Perception: The modern yet timeless design approach could significantly reinforce the brand's image as an innovator in the restaurant space.
  • Customer Delight: Addressing spatial and ambiance flaws was anticipated to elevate customer satisfaction and encourage repeat visits.
